Today we are joined by Michelle. Michelle works with a group that defends abortion rights by volunteering as safe escorts for patients through protestors. Recently some of the tactics the protestors have used are against local laws and local police have not been responsive. We talk to her about the experiences of her and the group, and how it affects the patients that are seeking women’s health services.

First of all I commend Michelle, you’re providing a great service. My other comment has to do with you pointing out that you can understand why these people would do this if they believe this is murder. I think that’s the wrong attitude to have, if these people truly believe that, and have the resources to pay for 2 vans with ultrasound machines then they have the resources to either educate people in preventing pregnancy, or handing out free condoms, or even going so far as to offer financial aid to women who get abortion because they can’t afford to have a child. Any of these are more effective tactics than harassing vulnerable traumatized women getting legal medical care. Given those other options, even if you truly believe this is murder, and limiting it is your motivation, this behavior is never justified, or understandable.
Do be da do ba da beep doop doooo
You want evidence for jesus? Accept him into your heart and you’ll have all you need.
Not a good argument? Well, then maybe you need to re-read what you wrote and reflect.
skeebaladeda da bap a WOW
If you’re anti abortion you shouldn’t stop abortions from happening! You should give money to people who have abortions because reasons!
It’s never understandable to harass people who you think are literally murdering people because the murder is technically legal? This is why ZERO% of liberals protest the death penalty, right?
OH shizlesnaps, I’m a liberal and I protest the shit out of the death penalty.
If your argument ever breaks down to “it’s OK when we do it” then maybe re-think using that argument.
Yes, I know you’re going to say “but it’s the difference between protesting the state for executing humans and harassing women who want to abort a fetus”.
To you. But I promise you they’ll see it as executing murderers vs defending innocent defenseless children from state sanctioned murder.
“Given those other options, even if you truly believe this is murder, and limiting it is your motivation, this behavior is never justified, or understandable.”
Do you even logic bro?
handing out condoms and teaching proper sexual education would slow the rate of abortions but they’d still happen and it would still be legal and that is their primary issue.
As for paying women who have abortions? It’s like you’re in your own reality. I could understand “pay women to NOT have an abortion” but what you wrote is laughable (i’m literally laughing at the absurdity of it).
I’m on your side, mostly (against abortion but pro choice) and i’m baffled by what I read.
“If you are against abortion and view it as murder then you should NEVER protest it and pay money to women who get abortions.”
cukoo cukoo
“handing out condoms and teaching proper sexual education would slow the rate of abortions but they’d still happen and it would still be legal and that is their primary issue.”
Handing out condoms, and teaching sex education are more cost effective, and more productive than harassing women. Harassment that does nothing about the legality of abortion.
“you should NEVER protest it and pay money to women who get abortions”
I guess I should have checked for typos for the benefit of morons who couldn’t understand that I was obviously suggesting giving money to women who want to get an abortion so they can afford to have the kid instead. It requires a mental impairment to imagine I was actually suggesting anti-choice advocates should pay women to have abortions.
Nice job. I’m glad to know there are platforms to expose the tactics of the anti-abortion harassment and volunteers willing to support women and their companions entering these highly regulated and safe medical offices.
Censorship? Expected more from you.
Actually. Nah. Expected just about this. Hang around too long with Eli Bosnic and salient points of disagreement start to look like hate speech eh?
Why are we still calling anti-abortion people “pro-life?” These people are NOT pro-life. Once a baby is born, it can be tossed into a dumpster to starve and that’s not a problem to the “pro-life” crowd. Generally, these people are pro-gun, pro-war and pro-death penalty.
They are not pro-life and they don’t deserve the label.
As you can see above I referred to them as anti-choice, not only for the reason you mention, but because it implies the rest of us are anti-life, which is ridiculous.
